Celebrity Baby Shower Games

Ever wonder what the rich and famous do at a baby shower, besides open gifts that are worth more than our savings account?  Just imagine if Oprah were throwing a baby shower.  Aside from every celebrity under the sun attending, every guest would get a new car and a microwave.  Maybe a little out of your budget, so a hotwheel car and a pot holder would have to do.

Or maybe if it was one thrown by Bill Gates and his wife, you wouldn’t have to leave your own home.  You could video conference any and all guests.  Clean up would be a breeze!  Your plan may call for something less expensive, say, a long distance phone call from an out-of-town relative.

The ultimate celebrity baby shower would have to be thrown by Martha Stewart.  She would have a game making you stomp berries with your bare feet, to extract the natural die, to create a colorful set of baby bed linens and onesies, after you helped pick and spin the cotton, of course.  A more practical approach may be baby T-shirts and fabric pens and let each guest design their own for the baby.

What about Rosie O’Donnell?  She’d never have to think of a game because she’d scream all the guests away within minutes of arriving.  Perhaps she’s the one you invite later on to get rid of those hangers on that just won’t leave the party.

No, I don’t think you would truly want a celebrity to plan your baby shower, or even the games.  But it could be fun playing baby shower games about celebrities.  Some games may take a little research.  Some others may be already available.  As always, check online.
How about ‘name that baby’?  Celebs are famous for the unusual, okay; let’s say it, down right weird names they bestow upon their children.

Try naming a star and see who can name their child. Or play the game in reverse - name the child and see if your guests can name the parents.   You’ll find out very quickly who reads the magazines at the checkout stands!

If you have an audience of a wide age range, try splitting up teams and play a celebrity nostalgia game.  Name a TV show and see which team can come up with the name of the parents and/or the child stars on the show.  You can also name one TV parent and see if they can name the other.

Depending on how much you want to put into the celebrity game, you could look up childhood pictures of famous people and see who can name what famous adult they are.

For the Mom-to-be to get a good chuckle, play “If You Were...”  Each guest should name a famous person and say, for example “If You Were Oprah, you could pay someone to go through labor for you.”
So while you may not include Angelina, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna or Oprah in your baby shower, go ahead and include them in your celebrity games.  It will be worth a million at a fraction of the cost.
