Baby Shower Games for Kids
Baby showers are traditionally held to pamper and indulge the mother-to-be, and to create a fun and jovial atmosphere in which to exchange presents for the forthcoming baby. The last thing a mum-to-be wants at her baby shower is bored children causing chaos.
It is, for that reason, important that if children are to be present at the baby shower that they are adequately entertained, and these baby shower games for kids show that this doesn’t have to be achieved to the detriment of the adults’ enjoyment!

A Nursery Rhyme Quiz- I can almost guarantee that the kids will beat the adults at this baby shower game hands down! The hostess creates a list of first lines from a variety of nursery rhymes. The party is divided in to groups (about three people per group is ideal, or adults versus children also works well), and the first group who can correctly finish the nursery rhyme wins the game. This baby shower game for kids not only makes the children feel included in the adult activity, but could even put them in a fantastic mood if they win!

Guess the baby food- This is a baby shower game for kids as it is usually the children who are most willing to participate in such a stomach-churning challenge! The hostess purchases several jars of commercial baby food, covers each label and numbers them. The guests then have to guess the flavour of each jar and write it on a piece of paper next to the corresponding number. The contestant who guesses the most flavours correctly wins.

Pin the diaper on the baby- This is an adaptation of the game ‘pin the tail on the donkey’ and one of the ideal baby shower games for kids. The hostess draws a large outline of a baby on a very large piece of paper (or several pieces stuck together) and also draws a picture of a diaper. Each guest then takes their turn to pin the diaper on the baby. The contestant who sticks their diaper closes to the baby’s bottom wins! This game really should have the kids laughing!

Nursery Rhyme Character Charades- This is definitely an ideal baby shower game for kids and adults alike. Before the party the hostess writes the names of various nursery rhyme characters on to small pieces of card, one character per card. The party is then split in to two teams, again this could be mixed ages or adults versus children. One member from the first team draws a card and then has to act out the nursery rhyme character shown on their card. If their own team manages to guess correctly within one minute then that team gets the point, if they don’t figure it out within the time the opportunity is then given to the rival team to win the point. The team with the most points after an allotted number of rounds wins the game.
